You are cordially invited to our October Book Chat hosted by LDRC Volunteer Linda Reeves. We will be discussing the delightful and charming story of Remarkably Bright Creatures. There will be two conversations about the book, October 10 and 24, 1-2:30 pm. You’re welcome to join one or both, whatever your schedule allows.
Remarkably Bright Creatures is a heartwarming story of a woman who works in an aquarium who befriends an aquarium “resident.” Full of warmth and humor, it is the story of love, loss, the power of friendship and the resilience of the human spirit.
The book has been turned into a Netflix hit starring Sally Fields. The movie follows the book very closely, so if you can’t find a copy of the book, check out the film. Sally Fields is wonderful in the lead role and has received numerous award nominations.
These book chats will encourage and welcome questions and comments, and we hope to have a lively discussion! Of course, you’re welcome to join even if you haven’t yet read the book. It’s a chance for book lovers to get together on a Saturday afternoon and share their thoughts about a shared experience, the act of reading.
Linda has been an LDRC Volunteer since May 2024. She has been battling Lyme disease for over ten years but she will not be telling her Lyme story at the Book Chat. These are Lyme-free events, a casual social gathering and an opportunity to build a community around BOOKS! Meet new friends and maybe see some “old” ones, too. Remember, a stranger is a friend you have yet to meet!
We’d love to see you at the Book Chat. Feel free to bring lunch, snacks, a beverage and whatever else makes you feel comfy. If you have any questions prior to the event, please reach out to info@lymeldrc.org
