Volunteer Positions

Zoom Assistant and Scribe

DUTIES: Assist facilitator with Zoom support meetings, Take clear and concise notes of participants’ and facilitator’s resources discussed in the meeting. Assist clients with sign-in and technical issues. Commit to one 3-hour shift per month for 8+ months of service.

QUALIFICATIONS: Empathetic listener possessing exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Comfortable reading databases. Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Office and Google products. Exhibit a high degree of ethics and integrity in dealing with personal data.

Ability to research and identify new resources a plus!

Marketing and Copywriting

Seeking savvy, energetic marketers who are passionate about those affected by tick-borne illness and possess skills in one or more of the following areas:
Copywriting/editing

Graphic design

Social media marketing

Content marketing

This is opportunity is virtual. Individual must possess knowledge of Lyme Disease and tick-borne Illness, have strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and be experienced with Microsoft Office and Google products. Ability to work independently and be a creative problem-solver.

Volunteer Coordinator

Currently, our physical office is closed to the public due to the pandemic. This opportunity can be performed virtually, but the volunteer must be within commuting distance of Northampton MA 01060. Anyone entering our physical office must follow LDRC policies and procedures for the safety of all.
DUTIES:Assist Executive Director with screening of volunteer prospects. Assist in volunteer training & development. Maintain volunteer schedule. Manage volunteer opportunities. Commit to one year of service.

QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with Lyme and tick-borne illness and the issues surrounding the disease. Must exhibit a high degree of ethics and integrity in dealing with personal data.

Must be professional with excellent organizational and communication skills. Must have proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft applications, and Google products.

Experience in training volunteers is preferred but not required.

Peer Counselor

Ideal candidates will have commitment, savvy diplomatic skills, integrity, and a passion for improving the lives of people affected by Lyme and tick borne illness. *Training Provided*

DUTIES: Conduct one-on-one support meetings developing strategies and sharing resources for living well. Generate client information on LDRC intake form. Conduct assessments and provide feedback to the client, and the care partner/family. Commit to one year of service.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have experienced some form of Tick-Borne Illness. Empathetic listener who motivates clients to take action. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Comfortable reading databases. Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Office and Google products. Exhibit a high degree of ethics and integrity in dealing with personal data.

A top-notch peer counselor should be able to easily identify warning signs in clients and provide effective interventions and emotional support.

Executive Assistant

DUTIES: Assist the Executive Director with company and client records, fundraising tasks, volunteer development, answer phone calls, keep the office organized and running efficiently, gather and share community resources, provide a welcoming smile and listening ear. Commit to one year of service.

QUALIFICATIONS: Individual must possess knowledge of Lyme, tick borne illness and local resources; have strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and be experienced with Microsoft Office and Google products. Ability to work independently and be a creative problem-solver. Be a team player and an empathetic listener who can also motivate clients to take action. Volunteer must exhibit a high degree of ethics and integrity in dealing with personal data.
